What is a Lag Switch

A lag switch is a device used to manipulate network traffic in a way that causes the user to gain an advantage in online gaming. These are the most common cheating devices for online play with Xbox 360 and PS3. Lag switches work by cutting the inbound signal but not the outbound one, meaning that while activated you won’t take any damage, but you can still shoot everyone around you. It makes you temporarily invulnerable and is extremely useful in online gaming. These devices can also be used to glitch games to get outside of the normal boundaries of the level. A lag switch is normally used in a first person shooter game but can also be used in other game types with varying degrees of success. Creative players can find uses for lag switches in all sorts of game and scenarios.
